Me-N-Him have gone through a transition or two as a band for over 30 years now. Starting with a chance acquaintance at a mutual friend’s wedding back in the mid-70’s, this duo band has become a highly sought-after acoustic country music sound. They claim they have grown OLDER, but not necessarily UP. Well, we know they’ve definitely grown INTO the premier talent that captures an audience, by flawlessly belting out classics by the likes of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson – just to name a few. Don’t miss their appearances at TGPP this season.

Illinois Rail

2016 Scheduled Dates
Saturday, Oct. 15

Illinois Rail is a high energy bluegrass/gospel band that hales from central Illinois. Several of the members have over thirty years of bluegrass band experience. The group came together in 2008 and shares a love of traditional bluegrass music, as well as, the bluegrass music of today. Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, The Cox Family, and Ronda Vincent inspire just some of the music played by the group. The band offers award winning banjo picking, spirited mandolin and dobro, rock solid flat picking and bass and exceptional vocals. Illinois Rail has played a variety of festivals and private functions over the years and recently did a recording session for WTVP, Channel 47 out of Peoria, Illinois for their use in public broadcasting. The group has released three cd’s which include various instrumentals, cover songs and several original tunes. The members of Illinois Rail have a great friendship and love to play and have fun with the music. When the group has fun, the audience has fun, too.

The Corn Desert Ramblers

2016 Scheduled Dates
Saturday, Oct. 29

The Corn Desert Ramblers are an acoustic band out of Champaign-Urbana. Their inspiration stems from the fathers of Bluegrass (Bill, Earl, Lester, Ralph…) as well as a plethora of other creative acoustic artists (Tim O’Brien, John Hartford, Doc Watson, Sam Bush…) and everything in between. The group launches from the traditional Bluegrass repertoire, expanding into the realms of gypsy jazz, blues, and “newgrass” soundscapes. Playing all around the Champaign/Urbana area and into the greater midwest, The Corn Desert Ramblers are a rousing “Traditional Newgrass” band pickin’ and grinnin’ the only way they know how–Chambana style.
